Understanding User Roles

The default role for all new users. Participants can explore and engage with content but have limited creation abilities.

What Participants Can Do:

• Browse dancer profiles, schools, events, and Odissipedia
• Search for content across the platform
• View published festivals and events
• Read messages and participate in conversations
• Create and manage their own personal profile
• Join circles as members

What Participants Cannot Do:

• Create dancer profiles for others
• Create school profiles or organizations
• Publish events or festivals
• Contribute to Odissipedia

For dance schools, institutions, and event managers who need to create and manage organizational content.

What Organizers Can Do:

• All Participant permissions, plus:
• Create and manage school profiles
• Create organizations and manage teams
• Publish events with custom posters
• Create and manage festivals
• Manage registrations for events and workshops
• Create dancer profiles under personal or organization ownership
• Transfer ownership of profiles, events, and festivals
• Create vendor profiles in the marketplace

How to Become an Organizer:

Contact Taalika support from your My Taalika dashboard to request Organizer role. You'll need to provide information about your school, institution, or organizing activities.

For community members who want to preserve and share knowledge about Odissi dance.

What Contributors Can Do:

• All Participant permissions, plus:
• Create and edit Odissipedia entries
• Create and manage Legend Profiles
• Edit published Legend Profiles (with locking system)
• Access the Contributor Circle
• Collaborate with other contributors
• Submit content for review and publication

How to Become a Contributor:

Apply for Contributor status through the Volunteer page or by getting in touch. We look for users with knowledge of Odissi dance and a commitment to quality content.

For supporters who contribute financially to Taalika's mission and operations.

What Patrons Can Do:

• All Participant permissions, plus:
• Make donations to support Taalika
• View financial transparency reports
• Access patron-exclusive updates
• Receive recognition on the platform (if desired)
• Priority support response

How to Become a Patron:

Make a donation through the Donations page in your My Taalika dashboard. The Patron role is automatically granted after your first contribution.

Platform administrators with full access to manage and moderate all content and users.

What Admins Can Do:

• All permissions from all other roles, plus:
• Moderate all content (approve, reject, edit, delete)
• Manage user accounts and roles
• Configure platform settings and features
• Manage financial records and donations
• Access administrative dashboards and reports
• Manage enums, preferences, and system data

Note: Admin role is reserved for Taalika team members and is not available to general users.
