Learn how to use the My Taalika dashboard to manage your content and activities.
What is My Taalika?
My Taalika is your personal workspace on the platform. It's where you manage your profiles, events, contributions, and interact with the community. The dashboard adapts based on your user role and permissions.
Accessing Your Dashboard
There are two ways to access My Taalika:
Click "My Taalika" in the main navigation menu
Click your profile picture and select "Dashboard"

Dashboard Layouts by Role
Your dashboard layout depends on your primary role:
Participant Dashboard
Overview: Quick stats and recent activity
Profile: Your personal profile settings
Preferences: Set your interests and preferences
Organizer Dashboard
Dashboard: Overview with analytics and quick actions
Schools: Manage your school profiles
Events: Create and manage events
Festivals: Publish and manage festivals
Dancers: Manage dancer profiles
Workshops: Workshop profiles and registrations
My Circle: Manage your community
Messages: Communication hub
Marketplace: Vendor profiles (if applicable)
Contributor Dashboard
Dashboard: Contribution stats and tasks
Pedia: Odissipedia entries you're working on
Legends: Legend profiles management
Contributor Circle: Collaborate with other contributors
Timeline: Your contribution history

Sidebar Navigation
Desktop Navigation
On desktop, the sidebar is always visible on the left side:
Click any menu item to navigate to that section
Active section is highlighted in gold
Icons help you quickly identify sections
Some items have sub-menus that expand on hover or click
Mobile Navigation
On mobile devices:
Tap the hamburger menu (☰) in the top-left
The sidebar slides in from the left
Tap any menu item to navigate
The sidebar automatically closes after selection

Dashboard Sections Explained
Overview / Dashboard
The main landing page showing:
Quick Actions: Buttons for common tasks (Create Event, New Profile, etc.)
Recent Activity: Your latest actions and updates
Stats: Numbers showing your profiles, events, contributions
Upcoming Events: Events you're organizing or attending
Profile Management
Manage different types of profiles:
Dancer Profiles: Artist portfolios you've created
School Profiles: Institution profiles you manage
Vendor Profiles: Business listings in the marketplace
Each profile type has Create, Edit, Publish, and Delete options.
Content Management
Create and manage content:
Events: Create workshops, performances, classes
Festivals: Annual or recurring festival profiles
Pedia Entries: Contribute to Odissipedia
Legends: Honor Odissi masters
Communication
Messages: Send and receive messages
My Circle: Manage your community of students and peers
Notifications: See all your alerts and updates
Settings & Support
Profile Settings: Edit your personal information
Preferences: Set interests and notification preferences
Organizations: Manage your organizations and teams

Quick Actions Widget
The Quick Actions widget provides one-click access to common tasks:
Create Event: Jump directly to event creation
New Dancer Profile: Start creating a dancer profile
Create School: Begin school profile setup
Write in Pedia: Contribute to Odissipedia
Tip: Quick Actions adapt based on your role. Participants see fewer options than Organizers, and each role sees actions relevant to their permissions.
Using Filters and Search
Most dashboard sections include powerful filtering:
Organization Filter
In sections like Schools, Events, Festivals, and Dancers:
Look for the "Owned By" dropdown at the top
Options include:
All: Show everything you have access to
Personal Only: Show only personal content
[Organization Names]: Filter by specific organization
The filter persists across sessions
Status Filter
Filter content by status:
All: Show everything
Draft: Unpublished content
Published: Live content
Archived: Inactive content
Search Within Dashboard
Use the search bar to quickly find specific items by name, title, or keyword.

Bottom Navigation (Mobile)
On mobile, a bottom navigation bar provides quick access to key sections:
Dashboard: Overview page
Events: Your events
Content: Profiles and content
More: Additional options
Keyboard Shortcuts
Speed up navigation with keyboard shortcuts:
⌘K or Ctrl+K: Open search
⌘/ or Ctrl+/: Show keyboard shortcuts
Esc: Close dialogs and modals
Getting Lost? Click the Taalika logo in the top-left corner to return to the main homepage. Click "My Taalika" to return to your dashboard overview.
