Ghungroo Utsav

Ghungroo Utsav is a classical dance festival presented by Nrityam Kalakshetra, created to provide a meaningful stage for young and emerging artists to showcase their talent through complete classical dance performances. The festival celebrates dedication, tradition, and artistic expression while encouraging performers through recognition, certificates, and medals.

Ghungroo Utsav is a classical dance festival initiated in August 2025 by Nrityam Kalakshetra, in association with Soulful Odisha (Srikant Panda). The festival was conceived with a simple purpose: to create a meaningful platform where young and emerging classical dancers can present full-fledged performances, giving them the time and stage to truly showcase their training, expression, and artistic abilities. The festival celebrates and encourages young talent by recognising participating artists with certificates and medals, while accomplished artists, gurus, and distinguished personalities from the classical dance community are invited to grace the occasion and inspire the next generation. The initiative is supported by the extensive artistic experience of Odissi dancer Subhendu Kumar Dash, whose journey spans more than 25 years and includes performances at prestigious national and international dance festivals. Together, Nrityam Kalakshetra and Soulful Odisha aspire to grow Ghungroo Utsav into a continuing celebration of India’s classical dance heritage—a stage where emerging talent receives recognition, established artists inspire, and “every step tells a story.” Even though the first event happened in Aug/2025, subsequent one are regularly scheduled in the month of Jan each year.
