Your information

    Privacy policy

Taalika, a product of Oryid Lab, helps people discover and share cultural work. This page explains how information is handled when you use the site.

    01

    Information we collect

When you create an account, submit a profile or story, contact us, or register for an event, we collect the information you provide. This can include your name, email address, phone number, profile details, photographs, videos, school or organisation details, and event registration information. Account passwords are stored as hashes rather than readable passwords.

We also receive basic technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as request and device information in service logs. During account onboarding, we record the steps completed so we can improve the experience.

    02

    How we use information

We use information to run accounts and profiles, publish approved cultural content, process event registrations, communicate about submissions and services, respond to requests, maintain security, and understand which parts of Taalika are useful.

    03

    Public content and sharing

Published artist, school, festival, event and story pages can be viewed and shared by anyone. Their titles, descriptions and images may appear in search results and social link previews. If we share a page on the Taalika Facebook Page, we may mention the relevant artist, school or organiser there. Facebook handles activity on its service under its own privacy policy.

Please provide material about another person, especially a child, only when you have the appropriate authority or permission. Contact us if a public page or image needs correction or removal. Copies and previews held by search engines or social platforms may take additional time to disappear after a change on Taalika.

    04

    Cookies and referral measurement

Taalika uses cookies for sign-in and service operation. When someone opens a Taalika link shared through our Facebook posting workflow, we use the link's campaign parameters to count visits by post. Browser session storage helps avoid counting the same page opening repeatedly during one session. A first-party cookie holding the post identifier lasts up to seven days so we can attribute an event registration to that post. We use these figures in our internal content dashboard.

    05

    Who receives information

Published content is available to the public. Event organisers can access information needed to manage registrations for their events. We use service providers for hosting, data and image storage, email delivery and, where used, maps or embedded video. These providers process information to deliver those services. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users.

    06

    Retention and your choices

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Taalika, maintain a reliable cultural record, handle requests and meet applicable obligations. You can edit available account and profile details in Taalika. You can also request access, correction or deletion of personal information by emailing us. We will review requests involving a child's information with particular care.

    07

    Changes to this policy

We may update this page as Taalika changes. The date below shows when this version was last updated.
