Rasanubhava
Indian Classical Dance Festival
About the Festival
Rasanubhava — a one-day Odissi festival launched on November 5, 2025 at GKCM Odissi Research Centre, Bhubaneswar. Curated by Dr. Ankita Rath, it celebrates the nine rasas through performances, workshops, and legend felicitations. A platform for emerging students and senior artists, it honors tradition while inspiring innovation in Indian classical dance.
Rasa is not just performed — it is experienced. Rasanubhava is where Odissi comes alive. Rasanubhava is a visionary Odissi festival founded and launched in 2025 by Dr. Ankita Rath, the dynamic force behind Nrutyankita Odissi Dance Academy and a practicing dentist with a Sangeet Visharad in Odissi. Held on November 5, 2025, at the prestigious Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra (GKCM) Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar — this inaugural edition marked a new chapter in India’s classical dance calendar. The festival’s core mission is to revive and deepen the experience of the nine rasas (shringara, hasya, karuna, raudra, veera, bhayanaka, bibhatsa, adbhuta, shanta) as described in the Natya Shastra, using dance, music, poetry, and abhinaya to create a holistic, soul-stirring journey. It serves as a bridge between generations, where: - Living legends are honored on stage with shawls, citations, and heartfelt tributes - Senior artists perform to inspire and mentor - Emerging students — many making their public debut — showcase original choreography - Interactive rasa workshops and talks demystify emotion in classical art
