Nrityam Kalakshetra is a premier classical dance institution in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, founded and guided by the acclaimed Odissi exponent Shri Subhendu Kumar Dash (affectionately known as Raja Baba). Deeply rooted in the authentic tradition of Adi Guru Pankaj Charan Das, the academy benefits from the artistic lineage of Shri Dash, who honed his mastery under the esteemed Guru Smt. Puspita Mishra at Kalingayana Touryatrikam. Backed by our founder's distinguished 25-year career spanning major national platforms—including the Mukteswar Dance Festival, Khajuraho Dance Festival, and the Biswa Odissi Utsav—the institution serves as a sanctuary for classical excellence. Nrityam Kalakshetra is dedicated to providing students with an elite standard of training, bridging prestigious stage experience with structured institutional discipline to nurture the next generation of classical dancers.

Our Philosophy
Our teaching philosophy at Nrityam Kalakshetra is built upon a foundation of rigorous discipline, positive mentorship, and collaborative artistry. We believe that learning Odissi is a transformative journey of Sadhana (dedicated practice) that shapes both the character and the technical precision of a dancer. Drawing directly from our founder's extensive background in professional productions and classical showcases, our curriculum balances strict adherence to traditional grammar with an evolving understanding of performance dynamics. We cultivate a supportive yet demanding studio environment that emphasizes strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and an optimistic work ethic.
