Nrutya Upasana Pitha (NUP) is more than a dance school—it is a cultural institution dedicated to preserving and promoting Odissi dance, music, and the performing arts while making arts education accessible to all sections of society. It was established in 1998 by Odissi exponent Sonali Mohapatra and follows the Guru Debaprasad Das style (gharana) of Odissi.

Our Philosophy
Nrutya Upasana Pitha's teaching philosophy is rooted in the traditional guru–shishya parampara, emphasizing disciplined training, artistic excellence, and preservation of the Debaprasad style of Odissi. The institution promotes holistic development through dance, music, culture, and values while fostering inclusivity, ensuring that students of all abilities can learn, perform, and contribute to Odisha's rich cultural heritage.
