Founded in 1993 by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra (born 8 January 1926 in Raghurajpur, Puri), SRJAN has evolved into a premier Odissi institution. Currently run by Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, the school maintains resident training, a repertory company, organizes the annual 'Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Award', conducts summer workshops, special courses for foreigners, and stages performances and festivals. The school also supports student development through scholarships and cultural programs.
