Monojit Saha is a Kolkata-based Indian classical dancer whose principal and consistently documented performance form is Bharatanatyam. His training began in Kolkata with Anita Mallik, after which he undertook advanced study with C. V. Chandrasekhar in Chennai. Reviews identify Chandrasekhar’s influence in Saha’s poise, stillness, pacing and Bharatanatyam presentation.
As a soloist, Saha has presented Bharatanatyam repertory including Ganesha stuti, sabdam, Mallari, Kauthuvam, ashtapadi, Tillana and works centred on Shiva. His documented appearances include Darpana’s 2014 dance programme in Ahmedabad, Articulate Festival in Mysuru, Vempati’s Marghazi Utsav in Chennai, and the Nritya Tarangini International Dance Festival in Mumbai in 2026. A documented Tagore production also credits him with performing Kathak in a duet.
Saha is the director of Nipun Nrityalaya. Through its 2019 Nritya Navin programme in Kolkata, Nipun selected and supported young dancers from five classical dance forms, covering performers’ travel and stay and providing honoraria; the initiative explicitly opposed pay-to-perform practices. His students documented in that programme included Bharatanatyam dancers Debosmita Roy and Arunava Barman.
He remains an active performer: he appeared as a Bharatanatyam artiste at the Nritya Tarangini International Dance Festival held in Mumbai on January 31 and February 1, 2026. In that recital he presented Mallari, a Shiva sabdam and Bho Shambho.
