Kataka Natyotsav 2026 - Semi-Finals

Part 2 — Semi-Finals

The Semi-Finals mark the second chapter of Kataka Natyotsav 2026 – 2nd Edition, where the competition intensifies and the finest teams emerging from the Preliminary Rounds return to the stage.

Hosted at the iconic Seven Pillars, Ravenshaw University, this phase brings together the highest-scoring college and university theatre teams for a more demanding round of performance. Having earned their place through the preliminaries, the selected teams now have an opportunity to refine their productions, strengthen their storytelling and demonstrate how far they can elevate their theatrical craft.

At this stage, expectations rise significantly. The jury looks beyond individual performances to evaluate the production as a complete theatrical experience—including script and storytelling, direction, acting, stagecraft, design, creative interpretation and technical execution. Teams are expected to build upon their earlier performance and bring greater confidence, precision and artistic maturity to the stage.

Performing at Ravenshaw University also gives the Semi-Finals a special character. Its historic academic setting provides a fitting backdrop for young theatre practitioners to compete, collaborate and celebrate the continuing tradition of collegiate performing arts.

But the Semi-Finals are more than another round of competition. This is the gateway to the ultimate stage. Only the strongest performances will earn the distinction of progressing to Part 3 — the Grand Prize Performance at Baliyatra, where the winning team will have the opportunity to perform before one of the festival's largest public audiences.

The competition gets tougher. The stage gets bigger. The dream gets closer.
