Despite initial resistance to what was considered an "effeminate art," his passion and dedication transformed him into a master whose name became synonymous with Odissi dance worldwide. He crossed the ocean of dance styles, creating a unique aesthetic that combined traditional temple dance elements with neo-classical innovations.
