Barsha Mohini Das

Barsha Mohini Das is an establishing and acclaimed Odissi dancer who balances lifelong classical sadhana with public service as a Section Assistant (S.A.) in the Finance Department, Government of Odisha. An empaneled 'B' Grade Artist of Doordarshan and an empanelled artist-educator with SPIC MACAY, she is active both as an expressive soloist and as a versatile ensemble performer in major group productions.

Initiated into dance at the age of three through the encouragement of her parents, Smt. Pravati Pattanayak and Shri Santosh Kumar Das, Barsha received her early training at Orissa Dance Academy under the foundational blessings of the late Padmashree Guru Gangadhar Pradhan and Padmashree Guru Smt. Aruna Mohanty. Today, she continues to refine her technique and stage presence under the guidance of noted Odissi exponent Guru Smt. Rojalin Mohapatra at the Debadasi Dance Institution in Bhubaneswar. Her dancing combines sculpturesque chowka and tribhangi lines with the graceful nuances of Mahari-inspired traditions, which she brings to life through solo presentations as well as synchronized ensemble choreographies across regional and national festivals.

Alongside her stage commitments, Barsha has built a strong academic foundation in the arts. She has completed classical examinations under Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai, and earned the Nrutya Shree Diploma from the Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi. She is currently advancing her artistic scholarship by pursuing a Master of Performing Arts (MPA) in Odissi Dance at Sri Sri University. Through regular group tours, solo festival appearances, and SPIC MACAY school lecture-demonstrations, Barsha continues to contribute actively to the dissemination of Odissi dance.
