Swapna Dutta

Swapna Dutta represents the dedicated spirit of a new-generation Odissi practitioner who balances classical devotion with high-technology engineering. Drawn to the grace of Odissi from an early age, she has spent over 24 years in classical practice at the internationally recognized Gunjan Dance Academy in Cuttack under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Meera Das, adhering to the foundational aesthetic of the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra lineage.

Her dancing combines technical discipline, clean postural lines, and expressive clarity. As an active performing member of Gunjan's senior repertory, Swapna has represented Indian classical heritage globally. In January 2024, she completed an official ICCR tour to Indonesia commemorating 75 years of bilateral diplomatic relations, performing across Bali, Surabaya, Purwakarta, Jakarta, and Batam. Nationally, she has performed on major classical platforms, including NCPA Mumbai (Sublime, Serene & Soulful), Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav, Konark Dance Festival, the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup cultural festival, and Mukteswar Dance Festival.

Committed to the preservation and growth of her institution, Swapna also trains budding disciples at Gunjan under Guru Meera Das's guidance, while managing the academy's technical workflows and digital presence. Alongside her dance commitments, she holds an Electrical Engineering degree from OUTR Bhubaneswar (formerly CET BBSR) and works professionally as an Azure Data Engineer at Tiger Analytics.
